Club By-Laws

Section 1

  • Any person may join this club by submitting the required fee, which shall be $20 per fiscal year for adult members, whereupon he/she shall be known as a paid member until the last day of June of the following fiscal year. After the first day of January, the required fee will be one-half of the normal fee. The fee shall be paid $10 in July and $10 in January for both adult and junior members.
  • A member having passed the age of 16 years shall be known as an adult member. A member who has not reached his/her sixteenth birthday shall be known as a Junior member.
  • The fee required of a paid Junior member shall be one-half of that required of a paid adult member. Juniors of an adult paid member shall have the fee waived.
  • Every adult member shall enjoy the privileges of voting, holding office, serving on committees, and participating in competitions, exhibits and programs sponsored by the club.
  • Junior members shall enjoy all the privileges of adult members excepting that no junior member may hold an elective office.
  • Any member may resign from membership in this club, providing he/she has returned all club property which lies in their custody.

Section 2

  • The President shall preside at meetings of this club and of the Board of Directors, shall sign contracts on behalf of this club, and shall represent this club in all business affairs.
  • The Vise-President shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of said President.
  • The secretary shall record the minutes of each meeting, shall handle general correspondence on behalf of the club, shall report at each regular meeting, and shall perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President and Vice-President.
  • The treasurer shall keep general club funds, shall pay all authorized club bills, acknowledge receipt of all membership fees, and shall report at each regular meeting.
  • The Program Chairman shall schedule activities, programs, and workshops in an effort to fulfill the purpose of the club.
  • At all times the elected officers shall respect the desires and opinions of the membership.

Section 3

  • The President shall appoint a nominating committee to secure candidates for the elective offices. The nominating committee shall report at the regular meeting immediately prior to the annual meeting. Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the members present at the annual meeting. If a quorum is not present at the annual meeting, Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of mail ballots returned by the members, or by a majority vote of the members present at a special meeting.

Section 4

  • The club shall hold regular meetings at whatever place and times are approved by a majority of the membership. The annual meeting shall be the last regular meeting of the fiscal year. Either the President or the Board of Directors may call a special meeting to enact urgent business. All members shall be informed of the time and place of all club meetings. The Board of Directors may meet at whatever places and times that are mutually convenient excepting that no decisions binding the club to contracts or expenditures may be made without the vote of the membership, or having prior authority conferred by the membership.

Section 5

  • This club may adopt any rules consistent with these by-laws, delete any existing rules, or enact any business by a majority vote of the members present at a regular meeting or at a special meeting provided a quorum is present.

Section 6

  • These by-laws shall be declared adopted and any former by-laws declared void when so approved by two-thirds of the members.
